The charm of this item is it's roughhewn look, and it's painted to look a little rusty. No doubt it will rust if left outdoors. Not very heavy because the sheet iron is not very thick. Decorative only, although the vanes do turn. If you're going for a rustic look you'll like it, a very appealing piece, artfully done. Weather vane stands 19" tall, 13" wide. Base is 4" wide and has 2 holes drilled so you can install it with screws, but it does stand on it's own. There's a set screw at the base, holds the base to the stand. Comes packed in a box with bubble wrap, very easy to assemble. Made in China.
