Clay salsa bowls, Pomaireware™. Double-bowl server, pig-face salsa bowls connected by a handle. Cute little pig faces and pig tails adorn each bowl. Complete with 2 small rustic hand made clay serving spoons, one for each bowl, around 5" long.
About 9” in width overall; each bowl is about 4" inside diameter and about 2" deep. Stands about 6-1/2" tall with the handle being the tallest part. Hand made in Chile - dimensions are approximate.
The clay walls on this earthy item are about 1/4" thick. Made of the same clay as Pomaireware™ bakeware, you could bake in it. Each bowl holds about 8 fluid ounces.

Clay bakeware has been hand made in Pomaire, Chile since the mid 1800’s. This distinctive piece is both functional and decorative and makes a unique serving dish.
Ovens work around the clock in Pomaire, packed full of clay pieces. Each item is formed, dried, then smoothed and burnished with an agate stone before being fired. No glaze or varnish is used, the only ingredient is lead free clay. It takes around 8 hours in the oven to create the dry, hard finish. This is a hand made item, so no two are exactly alike, and each one has it’s own blemishes and shades of color.
Very popular all over Chile for baking and serving. Use soft utensils such as wood, bamboo, or plastic; hand wash. While the finish is fairly tough, it could be cured by cooking with oil at first. Bear in mind that this clay is somewhat porous – it’s not glazed – so if left sitting with water in it some leakage may occur. Cooking oil is thicker and will not soak through.
